The preform station and the blow molding station are located at radially opposite positions. The transfer section is provided with a transfer head rotatable around an axis, and the transfer head is provided with a pair of identical transfer stations located at radially opposite positions. An indexer rotates the transfer head to two aligned positions, where one transfer station is aligned with the preform station and the other transfer station is aligned with the blow molding station. Each transfer station is provided with at least one neck mold for receiving and holding the parison to transfer it from the preform station to the blow molding station.
